Temple of Vesta. This was circular building originally surrounded by 20 columns. Dates from the 4th century AD. There was an earlier temple on this site.

The cult of the Vestals was one of the oldest in Rome. It centered on six Vestal Virgins who were required to keep alight the sacred flame of Vesta, the goddess of the eharth.
